- Habyt continues to expand its Homes and Co-Living portfolio with two new openings in Berlin, and one in Frankfurt. All new buildings are fully operated by Habyt, offering an ideal option for easy and flexible relocation, and a variety of housing solutions for tenants from shared units to 1-bedroom flats.
- With Habyt’s innovative residential model being well received by owners, the company opened 1,100 units in Europe so far this year. Habyt also signed 1,500 new units and is currently in negotiation for further growth, with a record pipeline of 10,000 units.
- The three new openings mark a year’s end of significant growth for Habyt together with the closing of a €40M series C round, its significant portfolio expansion, a company rebranding led by DesignStudio, and the opening of its first hotel in Europe (Habyt – The Waterfront).
Berlin, 28 November 2023 – Habyt, the world’s leading flexible housing provider, is expanding its portfolio in Germany with three new openings set for Q4. All new properties are centrally located in Berlin and Frankfurt, offering tenants even more flexible housing options in both cities.
Following the success of its earlier launches in Berlin, such as the modern Schmidstraße apartments and Habyt – The Waterfront, the company’s first hotel in Europe, Habyt is now growing its Homes and Co-living offerings in Berlin and Frankfurt. The expansion in Berlin includes 349 units spread across two new developments, which collectively represent 9,252 sqm in Fischerstraße 8-11 and Sickingenstraße 2-3.
In Frankfurt, Habyt is expanding its presence with an addition of 53 units to its existing portfolio in the city. Spanning 2,135 sqm, these new units are strategically positioned in a central and well-connected area of the financial district, close to landmarks such as the Deutsche Bank Towers and Trianon Tower. This expansion will offer further ease and flexibility to tenants relocating to Frankfurt.
Fischerstraße 8-11: Where comfort meets convenience
The first opening in Berlin, located at Fischerstraße 8-11, offers a total of 153 fully furnished high-end studio apartments designed for long-term residential use with an average size of 25 sqm. Each studio boasts a stylish and elegant ambiance and is equipped with all the essentials for a comfortable daily life, including ample storage space, a modern kitchenette, and a dedicated area to relax, dine, or work from home.
Located in Rummelsburg, with easy access to the trendy Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg area, the property features several amenities for tenants to enjoy, including a community space with a welcoming terrace, a spacious kitchen, a TV room, and a meeting room. Additionally, the building is also equipped with a beautiful courtyard, bike storage, and laundry room.
Sickingenstraße 2-3: Co-living in Moabit
The second new opening in Berlin is situated within the Moabit district, at Sickingenstraße 2-3. This property features 196 fully furnished and equipped units for everyone who is unlocking their next move in Berlin. In the bedroom area, tenants will find a comfortable bed, wardrobe, writing desk, and chair, making it easier to study or work from home. Each apartment features a fully equipped kitchen and dining area, as well as a spacious bathroom.
Purposefully built to be an ideal location for tenants to enjoy the co-living lifestyle, the property hosts a laundry lounge and a courtyard, as well as a community space where they can easily network and connect with other members of the Habyt community. The property is built with the latest developments in sustainability in mind, and features an environmentally-friendly timber construction.
Klüberstraße 6-10: Welcome to Frankfurt’s Financial District
In addition to the new Berlin openings, Habyt is also extending its portfolio in Frankfurt with a new opening at Klüberstraße 6-10. Nestled in Frankfurt’s financial district, this property offers a total of 53 units split across three houses located next to each other. Ranging from studio to 1-bedroom apartments and shared flats, all units are modern, comfortable, and fully furnished. Depending on the typology, the apartments also feature private or shared bathrooms, fully equipped kitchens, and a private balcony or terrace with a view of Frankfurt’s impressive skyline.
Tenants moving to Frankfurt will be able to enjoy a central location in the city while having access to such building amenities as a laundry lounge, elevators, and a courtyard at their full disposal.
Lasse Haarstark, Managing Director Real Estate EMEA at Habyt, said: “With our three newest additions to our ever-growing portfolio in Berlin and Frankfurt, we are able to offer even more opportunities for existing and new tenants to live with flexibility in well-connected areas in these key German cities. In the currently challenging real estate market in Germany with high financing and construction costs, Habyt’s operator model became a promising solution for many institutional projects.”
The housing shortage in Germany, which is at its highest level in 20 years, poses a difficult challenge for those looking for a home across the country. In Berlin alone, where 80% of people rent, securing a suitable accommodation is not always an easy task. Habyt’s expansion in Germany represents more opportunities for those who are searching for a room or apartment in major cities like Berlin or Frankfurt, offering a more space-efficient solution. Our rental model also guarantees a hassle-free experience for tenants, providing flexible contracts, fully furnished and equipped spaces, and a sense of belonging and community.
In very volatile Real Estate and PropTech markets, Habyt stands out with its significant growth of 1,100 units in Europe. This growth underlines Habyt’s commitment to revolutionizing urban living by offering a harmonious blend of style, flexibility, and convenience in strategically chosen urban locations. All this is enabled by advanced technology, and a digital-first approach that facilitates swift scaling of operations and sales.
